An art teacher is using his creativity to help the heroes on the front line of the Coronavirus pandemic.
James Cox’s picture pays tribute to the people keeping the city running. It shows restaurant staff, police officers, sanitation workers, UPS drivers, and of course doctors and nurses all holding up the Verrazzano Bridge.
All while the Staten Island Ferry and USNS comfort sail by. Cox, whose mother is a nurse, hopes to sell the poster. He says all the proceeds will go towards medical supplies for healthcare workers.
“Thank the people that you see in the picture. I’m sure most Staten Islanders live with a few of them. Everybody has an essential worker at home,” he said.
